Research & Statistics

We’ve all heard the saying, “Knowledge is power.” Suncoast Workforce compiles current and historical labor market statistics, demographic data and unemployment figures so you can find what you need easily and make informed decisions about your workforce. Link to the websites below to empower your business with the knowledge that will help keep you competitive.

Florida Labor Market Statistics - The Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) Labor Market Statistics Department releases data regarding Florida’s nonagricultural employment and unemployment statistics. The report provides comparisons by county, Florida and the United States as well as a recap of any initiatives affecting the labor market.

Florida Research & Economic Database - Research labor market, economic and demographic data, and compare information over time and between regions. You can analyze the labor market to determine competitive starting salaries, review training programs, place job orders and find suitable candidates.

Regional Targeted Occupations List - This list of occupations includes annual figures for percentage of growth, number of job openings and hourly wages for Manatee and Sarasota counties. If you are posting a job opening, check this list first to research salary range and local demand for that type of position.

Bureau of Labor Statistics - This bureau of the U.S. Department of Labor is the principal federal agency responsible for measuring labor market activity, working conditions and price changes in the economy. Its mission is to collect, analyze and disseminate essential economic information that could help in your decision-making.

Census Bureau- The Census Bureau is the leading source of data about the nation’s people and economy. It provides information on population and housing, economic indicators and more.

Suncoast Labor Market Information - Link to monthly reports by the Agency for Workforce Innovation and view Florida Unemployment Rates maps, which show monthly unemployment figures by county.
