Healthcare Leadership Program
The objective of this program was to create a collaborative training program that addresses specific needs of the medical community in the Bi-county area of Manatee and Sarasota Counties. The needs were identified as a result of many discussions with employers and education institutions in the Bi-county area.
One of the needs identified was for a higher level of leadership skills. Because role playing is one of the most effective teaching tools, this program uses a workshop teaching format to address this need and has been developed in a module format with the intent of providing the flexibility of presenting the program in variable time allocations.
This program has been developed to be done by a person with leadership experience who can facilitate and add to the conversations. It is designed for emerging leaders and leaders who are at the early stage of their leadership career.
The participant workbooks have been designed to be simple to follow and facilitate and we have included separate “instructor” workbooks for each of the modules in order to provide some ancillary information that will be helpful to the facilitator when delivering those modules.

One of the needs identified was for a higher level of interpersonal communication skills, both at the entry level and through-out a person's career. Because role playing is one of the most effective teaching tools, this program uses a workshop teaching format to address this need and has been developed in a module format with the intent of providing the flexibility of presenting the program in variable time allocations.
The program can be done by a "good" facilitator (versus an "expert" trainer) who knows how to work with both full sized groups and small group breakouts. The facilitator will only need a flipchart so they will not be dependent on technology. This program was made to be more generic so it could be used in many types of organizations rather than just the medical community.
